So the brand who has been the center of past controversy is now back in the headlines...I've seen the numerous amounts of public discomfort with MTV's Jersey Shore but this is kinna going way to far. I mean the brand has had numerous situations dealing with discrimination and not being politically correct. This is certainly not a way to gain more consumers, I would see this as almost like free advertising but obviously they aren't feeling that. I actually like Jersey Shore and I look forward to finding out what they are going to do weekly and I'm trying to figure out what damage they are doing??? Below is the official press release:
“We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image. We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans. We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response.”
