Then Laurent Tourondel announced he'd open a local outpost of his BLT American Brasserie. And now Eater learns that top Chinese chef Philippe Chow wants to open a version of his New York hot spot, Philippe, here as well. Eater got a tip that the famed restaurateur, with additional locations popular with celebs in Miami, LA and Mexico City, is scouting real estate in Chicago and that one of the spaces high on their wish list is the Il Mulino mansion, where the Playboy Club was announced to possibly be taking over. While Eater couldn't confirm that Il Mulino is definitely moving or that the Playboy deal was off the table, Philippe Chow CEO Stratis Morfogen did confirm they're looking to expand to Chicago.
