Ohhh the constraints of society can be quite wicked, we once thought we had rid ourselves of something that is now back with a vengeance. I was doing a little research on the present topic although I had some background information on them I wasn't sure as to why they were phased out, well it seems as though the corset which goes back a little further in our time, if I am to understand it correctly was linked with organ damage and infertility. Thus causing our Victorian ladies to discard them in the early 1900's in favor of a more modern object called a girdle which is more closely related to the "South American Faja", the objects currently used to produce weight loss and a more ideal shape where of common place in our society's past. In the "Victorian Age" it was unthought of for a lady to venture out without this already in place because it had been an object used on her from a very young age to keep waist the size of a young girl well into her golden years. It was also used to fit the shape of the clothes during that time properly, but wouldn't one wonder if something had been so damaging in past times why bring it back?
Well if there is anything anyone should realize improper use of anything can be damaging, so if you aren't rational enough in modern society to know when your body is experiencing unusual discomfort because of something being entirely too tight then so be it. Obesity in America is at an all time high so if products are being marketed to willing customers to accompany them in their journey to an ideal weight why not indulge it. Now its time to pick your poison which you wouldn't readily do unless you know exactly how that item looks and works, while there are steel bone corsets being constructed I'm not sure it would be ideal for those who are highly active as it restricts your movement to that fashioned after a doll making it more tailored to those using it for wear under high-end or couture fashion.
The "Faja" designed in different styles for men and women can be ideal for regular or recreational use,I came across these in searching for an item better suited to replace my flimsy workout belt that folds and doesnt support my posture. I think these are remarkable in reinforcing the waist while supporting your back as you get a great workout, would I use it outside of that on a regular occasion, probably not but I see nothing wrong with proper use of the garmet for those of us trying to embark on a more healthy lifestyle especially following the holidays. As your waist shrinks you will need to replace it so I wouldn't suggest anyone getting one 4-6 inches smaller than your waist on initial purchase because they are tight and cause compression that takes some getting use to.
