CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN teamed up with Parsons in New York to launch a design competition for the institution's graduates - and the winners have today been announced. Isaias Arias, Joanna Baker, Manuela Di Prima, Vivian Graf and Hyeyoung Kim were Louboutin's lucky final five, who impressed him with their interpretations of his work.
The footwear designer invited Parsons design students who graduated in 2010 and 2011 to create ready-to-wear pieces inspired by his silhouettes over the past 20 years, to help celebrate the brand's 20th anniversary. A group of 20 finalists were selected from the mood boards submitted by Simon Collins, dean of the Parsons School of Fashion, before Louboutin and Bergdorf Goodman's Linda Fargo chose the five winners.
The winners will see their pieces produced and unveiled during the Christian Louboutin 20th-anniversary event at Bergdorf's in early February.
