A Classmate Gone not Forgotten

I couldn't with good conscious not mention what I'm about to mention, actually I debated on it for awhile because again I didn't want to overstep my boundaries or resurface hurt for others. Well if anyone who really knows me knows that I'm truly a bleeding heart and that this is only coming from a good place, last year a former classmate of mine was laid to rest during this time of year. It shocked me because here was a guy who kept to himself, was doing the right things in life and someone decides that his life is going to end by senseless violence. It hurt me because this feeling is all to familiar in my age group and has hit close to home for me as well, even more so because I thought about a family whose holidays would be forever mournful you would have to be in humane not to want to reach out and help in some way. As I will say again the holidays are meant for giving to others, not taking especially taking something you cannot give and again this year my heart goes out to the Raines family and I wish only the most happy of holidays in-spite of the way this year started out I hope this one was of good fortune as well as the years to come.
