Anthony Harrell of group Brutha discusses new solo album

It's always a privilege to answer questions about myself and my career so thanks for taking the time out to ask.
For those who don't know who i am let me introduce myself. My name is Anthony Harrell. I use to be the front singer for a group i had with my 4 brothers called Brutha. We had a hit reality show on BET in 2008 called 'Brothers 2 Brutha'. And also released our debut CD in December of 2008.
First of all I'd like to say that my brothers and I are no longer together as a group. But i wanna get one thing clear. I NEVER left Brutha. Me and my older brother Grady left an unhealthy situation and my other 3 brothers chose to stay. Well actually, my other 2 brothers. Because Jared just recently left so now it's down to only 2. I had been recording songs on my own for the past year so I happened to have an albums worth of material so I chose to release it. Not sure if Brutha will ever do another album.

Anthony Goes In depth about new solo album entitled Kathy

My solo project is entitled 'Kathy'. It is about my entire journey finding my wife but primarily it is about love so i know everyone can relate. It's a young sound mixed with a sort of old school vibe. I say this because one of my favorite artists is Stevie Wonder. So you'll definitely hear some of Stevie's vibe in it.
Since I first got in the industry I've grown a great deal. I am the type of person who yearns to learn fast. So being in the industry i am around lots of great musicians and artists. They give all kinds of wonderful ideas and advice so i just soak it all up.
I'm most proud of my solo project because i put it together with just a few people. I wrote all the song with my Uncle Trent and with the exception of 1 song called Famous, this guy name Brian Reid Produced the entire thing. Unlike Brutha's first album which we didn't get the opportunity to really have a hand in writing, producing or even pitching any ideas. I would love to work with Stevie Wonder. That would be a dream.As of right now i don't have any future plans to sing with my brothers.

The best advice i would give to anyone trying to break into the business is do it for the right reasons. If your getting into the business for JUST money or fame then it will come back to bite u in the ass. My musical inspiration comes from many people but mainly just great music and great musicianship. I am always working on my personal style and it is forever changing. I love hats. Mainly top hats. Not really baseball hats.My favorite place to hang out when I'm not recording is with my loved ones. My wife and my beautiful daughter. We like to go to the park and walk our dog 'Bunker'. We like to play video games, go to the movies...etc.
