If you are gonna party why not party for a good cause, and what isn't a better cause than autism, autism is a disorder of neural development characterized by impaired social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior. These signs all begin before a child is three years old. Autism affects information processing in the brain by altering how nerve cells and their synapses connect and organize; how this occurs is not well understood. It is one of three recognized disorders in the autism spectrum (ASDs), the other two being Asperger syndrome, which lacks delays in cognitive development and language, and Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (commonly abbreviated as PDD-NOS), which is diagnosed when the full set of criteria for autism or Asperger syndrome are not met.evidence. The prevalence of autism is about 1–2 per 1,000 people worldwide; however, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports approximately 9 per 1,000 children in the United States are diagnosed with ASD.

1st Annual Merci-Belle; The Look of LA Project benefits ACT TODAY! This stands for (Autism Care and Treatment Today!) ACT Today! is a national nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization whose mission is to raise awareness and provide treatment services and support to families to help their children with autism achieve their full potential. Our goal is to introduce and help facilitate early and on-going treatment by providing the necessary resources (including referrals, funding and guidance) to individuals with autism and their families. 1 out of 110 children is diagnosed with autism, making autism more prevalent than juvenile diabetes, childhood cancer and pediatric AIDS combined. Chances are you may know someone with a child with an autism spectrum disorder.
